2000 Chevy Cavalier Engine Problem

I’m looking for some advice on my 2000 Chevy Cavalier. It’s been a reliable car for years, and I’ve really enjoyed driving it. However, lately, I’ve been noticing some strange noises coming from the engine, especially when I accelerate. It’s a sort of rattling sound that I can’t quite pinpoint. I’ve also noticed a slight decrease in performance, and the fuel efficiency seems to have dropped a bit.

Has anyone else experienced similar issues with their Cavalier? What could be causing these problems? Are there any common issues with this model that I should be aware of? I’m not super experienced with car repairs, so any detailed advice or suggestions on what steps to take would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
