My 2005 4x4 Chevy Trailblazer needs its two front wheel bearings changed, and the local auto shop charged me $900 to do it. I don’t see why it’s so costly after looking at part costs and labor-intensive tutorials. Does this sound appropriate? Is it usually this expensive?
The ABS sensor is probably what drives up the cost—by two, at that. A local business offered somewhat less to replace the LF hub on an 11-Malibu than the dealer, who wanted over $500. I got a $60 hub from Autozone and a Slickdeals coupon, and a shop installed it for labor costs.
