I recently got a 2010 Equinox, and the center storage compartment has some guide rails on the inside. It’s obvious that it’s meant for some sort of tray or organizer, but for the life of me I can’t find one. It’s not on the parts list, there’s no mention of it in the manual, and the only thing I can find online is made for a 2018 or newer.
Am I just imagining things, or was there actually something for that spot?
@Sloan
Yeah, I had a 2011 Equinox, and it had that tray. It might be that it’s just hard to find online, but I’m pretty sure it was a standard feature.

It’s possible the tray was an accessory or an optional add-on. You might want to check with a dealership or even look for aftermarket options that fit. I had to get an aftermarket tray for my Silverado because the original was discontinued.

I’ll give the dealership a call and see what they say. Aftermarket could be a good option too if I can’t find the original. Thanks for the suggestion!
I used to work at a Chevy dealership, and I think that tray was an optional part you could get, but not all models came with it by default. If the guide rails are there, it’s definitely designed for one, but finding it might be tricky. Sometimes older parts go out of stock or are no longer listed.
I’ve got a 2010 Equinox too, and I have the same storage area with those rails. Mine didn’t come with a tray either, so I just use it to store loose change and other small items. Honestly, I forgot it was probably meant for a tray!
You might want to check online forums or eBay for used parts. Sometimes you can find discontinued items there, or people selling parts from old vehicles.
