True, the fuel filter is part of the fuel pump inside the gas tank. About replacement, you won’t need to replace the whole fuel pump when changing the filter unless there’s an issue with the pump itself.

@StaceyReed The fuel filter on the '14 Cruze 1.4 LT is located in the engine bay.
When replacing the fuel filter, you can often do so with no need to replace the fuel pump as well.
However, if the filter is quite old or clogged, it can strain the fuel pump.
If you’re experiencing any issues like poor fuel pressure or performance after replacing the filter, I’d recommend inspecting the fuel pump and potentially replacing it as well.
