I’m not finding any clear answers about my 2019 Equinox LT and remote start. I only have the 3-button key fob with Lock, Unlock, and panic… no remote start button. I do have the power liftgate, but I’m not sure about remote start. In the vehicle settings, there’s an option for ‘remote start turns on heat/AC,’ which is confusing. Does this mean I might have the feature but it’s not activated? Also, can OnStar help with this since I’ve never activated it? I need two new key fobs anyway, and it would be awesome if I could get one with remote start. Anyone have experience with this?
Are you the original owner? If so, you don’t have remote start. I had mine dealer-installed and received two new fobs with that installation.

I’m not the original owner. I do need to try the OnStar option, but it’s been tough to set up my account.
Download the Chevy app and sign up for the trial OnStar. If you have remote start, you’ll be able to activate it through the app.

Press the OnStar button in your car. They can walk you through the process.
The remote start kit was $295, and I had it delivered to the dealership for installation. Forget the labor cost; everything was done through GM Card reward points.

I’m fine paying for the dealership to install it, but I just need to know if it’s an option. The dealership I called didn’t give me a straight answer.
OnStar might not be a good value, but the trial could help you figure out if you have remote start. Just keep trying to get it set up.
