Hello, I’ve got a 2019 Trax that’s leaking oil out of the PCV diaphragm. The car has a P0299 engine code. The small red check valve in the intake manifold is still there, but the hose I pulled off to check the intake manifold is full of oil. Any ideas on what could be causing this?

It sounds like you might have excessive crankcase pressure. That can force oil out of the PCV system. Have you checked your PCV valve?
I haven’t checked the PCV valve yet. Do you think that could be the main issue?
Another possibility could be that the diaphragm itself is damaged, which could cause the oil to leak. You might want to inspect that closely.

I’ll definitely take a look at the diaphragm. Thanks for the tip!
Also, check your oil level. If it’s too high, that can lead to issues with the PCV system as well.

Good point! I’ll check the oil level when I get a chance.
Make sure there’s no blockage in the PCV system. Sometimes sludge can build up and cause problems.

I hadn’t thought about that. I’ll clean the system out and see if that helps.
If you’re still having issues after checking everything, it might be worth taking it to a mechanic. They can run a full diagnostic.

Thanks! I’ll try some of these fixes first and see how it goes.
