Hey everyone, I have a 2023 Chevy Equinox and today I made a left-hand turn onto another road. When I tried to accelerate a bit, the engine sputtered and the RPMs revved up. Then my check engine light came on, along with a warning saying my engine power was reduced. I’ve never experienced anything like this before. I plan on taking it in tomorrow, but just wanted to see if anyone else has had this happen or what I should expect.
That sounds frustrating. I’ve heard of similar issues with newer models, especially if there’s a problem with the throttle or sensors.
Definitely take it to the dealer ASAP. The reduced power warning usually means the car’s computer is trying to protect the engine from damage.

Thanks for the advice! I’ll make sure to mention that when I go in.
I had a similar issue with my Equinox. It turned out to be a faulty sensor. Hopefully, it’s something simple for you too.
I’ve heard that some of these models have had recalls for engine issues. It might be worth checking if yours is affected.
