We just purchased a 2023 Equinox that only came with one key. I have read in the owner’s manual that I can program my own key fobs. I bought two more key fobs. Am I correct that I can go through the 30-minute procedure from the owner’s manual to have three fobs programmed to the car? It sounds pretty straightforward. Trying to avoid a costly trip to a dealership or locksmith.
I think you should be able to do that. I programmed mine for my last car and it worked well.

That sounds encouraging. Was it a similar model?

Yeah, it was a 2020 model. Same process as described in the manual.
IDK, but I would double-check the manual just to be sure. Sometimes things change.

Good point. I will review it again to make sure I didn’t miss anything.
It’s definitely worth trying yourself. Saves a lot of money compared to the dealership.

Exactly what I’m thinking. Just want to make sure I do it right.
Make sure the fobs you bought are compatible with your Equinox. Sometimes they can be specific.

Yeah, I checked the compatibility before buying them. Should be good to go.
If you run into trouble, there are usually online videos that can help with the programming.

That’s a great idea. I’ll look for some videos just in case I need extra guidance.
