2023 Trailblazer issues?

Hey guys, I bought a 2023 Trailblazer in April, and overall, it’s been fine. But now and then, I’ve noticed this weird little jerk when I accelerate, especially when trying to pick up speed. It’s hard to explain, but it feels like the car is skipping or pulling back. I wasn’t sure if I was accelerating too quickly or if it was just how the car was.

A few days ago, the check engine light came on, and it showed “reduced engine power.” I pulled over, turned the car off and on again, and while the light stayed on, it seemed to drive okay. But today, the jerking was more noticeable, especially when shifting. Then tonight, on my way home on the highway, it struggled to go over 60 mph. It felt like driving a stick shift that needed to change gears but didn’t, even when I floored it.

I took it to a parts place, and they mentioned something about the turbo. Should I be worried?

Has anyone else had this happened?

Yes.

“It sounds like there is an under-boost code, and you likely need to replace the turbo.”

Should I be concerned about this recurring at 29,000 miles? Is it a sign of bigger issues?

It is a bit odd that a defective turbo did not show up earlier at 29,000 miles, but it’s not alarming. I have replaced a few on this engine, all around 15,000 miles or lower, and have not seen any fail a second time.
