2024 Trax - AC not blowing cold again

I had it in about a month ago since the air conditioner was not working properly. When I handed them the TSB to fix the AC not blowing cold for remote start, they said it was fixed.

Now it sounds like someone is inflating a balloon and then deflating it repeatedly. Some call it hissing.

Are there any TSBs for this problem? I strongly suspect it is a leak.

Mine is going in for the same problem; I had my AC repaired in June. Last month, the hissing began again, and I received a check engine light with a code indicating that the purge pump needed to be replaced. The dealership claimed the hissing was most likely caused by the purge pump. However, even when that was replaced, the hissing continued. Bringing it back on Friday to have the AC examined; the dealer believes it could be the evap core. They are currently waiting for the identical issue to be resolved in three more vehicles.

Evap core. Very common issue, just check the sub reddit with a search.

It’s happening to mine right now

Could be evaporator… there was a faulty batch. Also saw a pipe leaking on one. Need to be checked either way

It’s the evaporator core. Just got done getting mine replaced. Very involved fix. About 4k in labor if it wasn’t under warranty.

They take the entire dash out. Your dealership may know what is going on, but doesn’t want to fix it because they know they will be working for chump change

Do you know if there is a bulletin about this ?

Not that I know of. That breathing noise is very common for an ac leak. I used to work at a mechanic shop.

They insert dye into the charging port when they recharge your low refrigerant to diagnose it. Then they take a UV light and see where it glows.

Any entry-level tech should be familiar with that noise.
