I just acquired my 2025 Trax Activ two months ago, and my instrument display screen went entirely black at random. It is currently sitting at the dealership until the components arrive, since it is unsafe to drive. They advised me that GM has back-ordered the part I need, and there is no availability date or ETA.
Is anyone experiencing similar issues with 2025/2024?
Honestly, the problem exists with all new vehicles these days. The transition to “just in time” parts entails fewer parts made for repairs and greater wait times.
I suppose this is a common topic with Chevrolet. I had to replace the window regulators on my 2024 Trax LT. Parts were on backorder. It took three months (they never contacted me; I had to phone) to visit the dealer and have them replaced.
No what I wanted to see. Mine is at dealership currently for the same Issue. First time they tried a reset, still waiting for the verdict on this investigation.
@JackyDaniel The dealership ordered a cable in the hopes of repairing the problem, which has no ETA. If it does not resolve the issue, they intend to replace the instrument panel. I hope they find a quicker answer for you.
Are your screens always black? I ask because I had this issue a few times intermittently and a dealer-installed software update addressed it…at least I haven’t had any problems in the few months and thousands of miles since then. I’m curious as to what part they indicated needs to be replaced.
