I’m shopping for a 40l60 reman for my 2001 Chevy Suburban. I was originally just going to get a rebuild, but the shops in my area quoted me 3 grand plus! I was thinking about buying one off LKQ, but now I’m leaning towards the VEGE reman that Summit Racing sells. Has anyone had a good experience with a reman lately? Would love to hear your thoughts!
I’ve heard good things about VEGE remans. A buddy of mine used one and said it was solid! Definitely cheaper than a rebuild too.

That sounds promising! Did he say how it performed after installation?
@Vaughn
Yeah, he said it’s been running great for over a year now with no issues. Worth checking out!
I went with a reman from LKQ for my truck and it’s been running fine. Just make sure to inspect it when it arrives.

Good to know! Any specific things I should look for when it arrives?
@Hale
Check for any leaks and make sure it looks clean. You’d be surprised at what some places send out.

I guess it really depends on how much you’re willing to spend. I’ve seen mixed reviews on remans, but if you’re on a budget, it might be worth a shot.
True, but I hate the idea of spending money on something that might break down soon. Is there any warranty with these?
I’ve been looking at remans too! Let me know what you decide. I might follow your lead!
Don’t forget to read the reviews online! They can give you a good idea of what to expect.
