Adding a Power Lift-Gate to My Car

I recently bought a Trailblazer, but it doesn’t have a power lift-gate. I used to have one in my previous car, and I’m really missing the convenience, especially when my hands are full with groceries!

I’ve been looking into adding one, but I’ve seen aftermarket options ranging from $400 to $800. Are they worth it? Has anyone here added a power lift-gate to their car? If so, what was your experience, and do you have any recommendations on which ones to consider?

Honestly, I’d rather have a standard, manually operated lift gate. It’s really not that wonderful, aside from the immediate splendor of pushing the button. Manually opening and closing it is significantly faster, and there’s no possibility that you’ll accidentally open it into something, like a low garage, etc. After all, hydraulics are a feature, right?
This simply appears like a luxury element that is completely unnecessary yet pleasant to have (for certain people). On the other hand, because you use the speakers while driving every minute, I would improve them. Take it as you will; this is just my view. Slamming doors shut is satisfying, so I like to do that.

I’ve added a power lift-gate to my car before and found it to be a great convenience, especially when handling groceries or other items. The aftermarket options you’re seeing, ranging from $400 to $800, can be worth it if you value the added convenience. Make sure to choose a reputable brand with good reviews, as installation quality and reliability are key. Some options also come with warranties or customer support, which can be helpful. I recommend looking at user reviews and checking if the installer has experience with the specific model of your car to ensure a smooth installation.
