Advice needed: 2021 Blazer

Our 2021 Blazer, which has 61,000 miles, had a problem. Yesterday, while driving, the car shut off as we were leaving from work. It would not crank or start again, though the dashboard lights stayed on. After letting it sit and charging the battery, it did start up again.

But now, the car keeps on shutting down when we turn on the air conditioning. It runs fine with the AC off. This is the first issue we have had with this vehicle.

We have got a service appointment scheduled for the morning. Has anyone experienced something similar or had any ideas about what might be causing this?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Have you checked the outdoor temp? Maybe an electronic issue with the thermostat, or just plain overheating.

Thanks, is a great idea. Hope the mechanic will sort it out

The AC compressor isn’t cycling on- thus it’s blowing hot air… but would that make the car shut down?

It shouldn’t. Maybe an electronic issue then, the car thinks it’s hotter than it is and is shutting itself off to prevent damage.

Thanks for your concern. Have an appointment at Chevy in the morning, to see whether they would sort the issue out.
