Hey guys, I purchased a 2025 Trax and am learning a lot about it. It emits a three to five-second sound when I turn it on, sort of like a laser. What does that signify? Is there a problem with the sensor or what? Both the instructions and the internet are blank for me.
My 25 does this when it detects the key fob left inside the vehicle during a departure; it doesn’t do this at startup. Umm
@AlexJohnson Yeah super weird. It does it when I am first getting in
@Lucas My only guess is it’s the fob detection sensor having a little glitch but maybe ask the dealership if it continues to bug you.
I am aware of this because I discovered that my seatbelt clicks to stop it from beeping. The other day, as the car was starting to dinge, I clicked the door lock button, thinking it would also turn off the car, rather than letting it lock automatically when I put it in drive. For the latter, more testing is necessary. People have complained about the piercing dinging sounds on phone calls I have been on.
@Charlotte My wife’s failure to fasten her seat belt led to our divorce…
Sounds like the actuator on your parking brake. There are instances when it will create noise as you get in the automobile. Ask not why.
Most likely, self tests and other things are being conducted by your brake module. The electric brake booster used by 2025 Trax is incorporated with the master cylinder and ABS module. When you turn on the ignition and when you turn it off, it performs a self-test. There will be a clicking or whirring sound inside the automobile if you stay in it for five to ten minutes. Some people find this annoying, but it’s typical.
Is it Seat belt warning?
I don’t think so, it does it even if I’m buckled…
