So, here’s the deal. I’ve got a brand-new 24 Tahoe Z71, and three times in the past week, I start the truck, and the audio system is completely dead. No sound at all—no turn signals, no radio, no seatbelt chime, nothing. I’ve tried holding the end call button, tried restarting the system, even tried going into safe mode, but nothing works. I’m about to take it to the dealership, but honestly, I’m super frustrated. This was supposed to be my dream car, but now I’m regretting it because the most basic feature isn’t even working. Anyone else have this problem? Any suggestions?
Yeah, electronics can fail early on, especially in new cars. I’ve seen it happen across all makes and models. It sucks, but once they fix it, you should be good to go. Try not to let it get you down. Hopefully, the dealer will get it sorted quickly.
@Asa
Thanks, appreciate the positive spin. They’re replacing the amplifier, so fingers crossed that fixes it. It’s just been stressful not knowing if I’ll have sound every time I start the truck.
Sounds like an amplifier issue to me too. Definitely take it to the dealer and have them check the wiring as well. Could be something as simple as a loose pin.

What do you mean by a ‘loose pin’? Not super familiar with car audio systems.
@Luca
Ah, sorry! A loose pin is like a connection point in the wiring that might not be fully connected. If it’s not seated properly, it can cause intermittent issues like you’re describing.

Got it, thanks! Makes more sense now. Hopefully, it’s just something simple like that for OP.
That’s frustrating! I had a similar issue with my '21 Tahoe. It ended up being a software issue in the infotainment system. They updated it, and the problem was gone. Have they tried doing any updates?
@Rylan
They didn’t mention any software updates, just replacing the amplifier for now. I’ll ask them about a system update next time I’m there. Thanks for the tip!
It could also be a bad ground wire. That can cause all sorts of weird electrical issues. Might be worth mentioning to the dealer.

I hadn’t thought of that! I’ll bring it up when I go back to the dealership. Thanks for the heads up!
Ugh, that’s gotta be annoying. I’ve heard of people having issues with GM’s new infotainment systems, but nothing this severe. Hopefully, they get it fixed for you soon. Keep us posted!

Will do! Hopefully, once the new amplifier is installed, everything will be back to normal. I’ll update after the fix!
