I just bought a 2022 Equinox last week. When I’m using CarPlay, sometimes the audio cuts in and out, and the screen starts lagging a lot. Has anyone else had this problem, and any tips on fixing it? Thanks!
I have the same issue with Android Auto. Sometimes it only works with the cord, and Bluetooth just won’t connect. When I play Spotify, it sometimes sounds crackly like there’s a loose connection. Usually, I fix it by unplugging, closing all my apps, and reconnecting.
@Eliot
That sounds like a hassle, but I’ll try it out. Is it pretty consistent when you reconnect, or does it act up again later?

Yeah, sometimes it’s good for a while after reconnecting, but other times, the crackling comes back. It’s really random, which makes it even more annoying.

Does anyone know if a software update could help? I had a similar problem with my older car, and a quick update fixed it.

Good question! I haven’t tried checking for updates. I might ask the dealership to see if they know of any updates that fix this issue.
I haven’t had any sound issues, but my screen freezes for a few seconds sometimes when I’m using GPS through CarPlay. Feels like the whole system slows down out of nowhere.

That sounds really similar to what I’m dealing with, especially when switching between apps. Have you noticed any pattern or anything that seems to trigger it?
@Gerald
Not really… it’s random, but it happens most when I’m running navigation and music together. Maybe it just can’t handle multiple apps well.
@Gerald
Yeah, that might be it. I’ll try just running one app at a time and see if it helps. Thanks!
I’d recommend trying a different USB cable if you’re connecting with one. Sometimes cheap cables or ones that are a little damaged can mess with the connection.

Good call! I’ll give that a try. I think I’m using an old one that might be worn out.
@Gerald
Let us know if it works! I had a similar issue with a bad cable and didn’t think that could be the problem until I switched it.
