Anyone know how to stop auto shutoff on a 2020 Chevy Equinox?

Hey guys, I was at a drive-in with my 2020 Chevy Equinox and realized that after an hour, the car automatically shuts off if it’s inactive. Does anyone know how to stop this from happening? I’ve been searching online but couldn’t find anything. Any advice?

Why not just turn it back on when it shuts off?

Haha, I know! But I set everything up in the back of the car, so having to rush to the front just to turn it on again is kind of a hassle. Was hoping there was a way to disable the auto shutoff feature.

But why do you need the car to stay on at a drive-in?

You need the car on to listen to the movie through the radio station they give you.

Oh wow, didn’t know that! I thought drive-ins had speakers right next to your car :man_shrugging:

Same here. Guess it depends on the drive-in?

Yeah, most modern drive-ins use FM radio now. You get better sound quality that way.

Makes sense! Didn’t realize things had changed so much.

Set a timer for 50 minutes, then just walk to the front and turn the car back on.

Most movies are around 110 minutes, so that should cover you for the whole thing.
