I bought a 2008 Chevy Express 2500 recently. Before buying it, I had it fully inspected. The mechanic said they needed to change the transmission fluid and gasket. Now that I have it parked in my driveway, I noticed a small leak, and I think it’s coming from a bolt that looks different from the others. Does anyone know why the bolt was screwed in like this?

Maybe they lost the original bolt and put in a longer one, using split lock washers as spacers to make it fit. Or they could have messed up the threads and tried to use the washers as spacers again. It’s a weird one though

I would take it back to the shop and have them fix it.
