Anything to know about Caprice PPVs reliability wise? Want an interesting daily

I’m a big fan of Aussie GM cars and I’m considering getting a Caprice PPV since they’re priced around $7-10k in my area. I know about the DOD delete but I’m really curious about their reliability. I’ve been used to working on 90s BMWs, so I can handle some DIY work, but I want to make sure I’m not getting into a money pit. Any insights would be appreciated!

Caprice PPVs can be pretty solid, especially if you do the DOD delete. The engines are generally reliable, but keep an eye on the usual wear items like the transmission and suspension components

If you’re comfortable with working on cars, you should be fine. Just make sure to do regular maintenance and don’t skip on oil changes. It can go a long way in keeping the engine healthy

Honestly, they’re fun cars to drive. Just be prepared for some quirks, since they’re not your typical daily drivers. But if you enjoy working on cars, it could be a great fit

Also worth checking is the interior wear and tear, especially if it was a police vehicle. Make sure everything is functioning as it should, including electrical systems

Overall, if you find one that’s been well taken care of, you can definitely have a fun and reliable daily. Just keep that maintenance up!
