Better MPG for a lifted '03 Silverado?

I’m looking at this '03 Cateye that’s lifted and has 35’s. The owner says he gets about 10 MPG. Is there any way to raise that before I buy? Maybe lowering it a bit and getting 33’s instead?

If it’s lifted with big tires, you won’t get good MPG. Consider a truck that isn’t lifted for better fuel efficiency.

If it has mods, leave it alone unless you want headaches. Lifts count as mods.

What’s your budget? You might find a stock truck for your price range.

If you’re worried about fuel mileage, maybe a lifted truck isn’t for you.

You could consider regearing or switching to a stock wheel and tire combo. Lifts usually sacrifice MPG.

Bigger tires mean you’re traveling further with each tire rotation, which affects MPG. You could regear to 4.10 or 4.27 to get closer to stock performance.

I had a stock '04 4x4 with a 5.3, and it was mid-teens MPG under normal driving.

I’ll look into those gears! Thanks for the advice!
