Hey guys, I’m stuck between getting a C6 Corvette or a Camaro SS. The C6 I found is a 2008 base model, and the Camaro is a 2016 2SS. I love the look of the C6, but those aggressive headlights on the Camaro are just so clean. I think the Corvette has a rear-mounted transmission, right? I’ve heard it can be tricky to work on since it’s kind of ‘reversed.’ Both are automatic because I’m not into manuals, lol. I’m not planning to hit the track, just looking for something to enjoy daily. Resale value doesn’t matter to me. Any thoughts?
I totally get the struggle! I’m biased towards the Camaro SS because the Alpha chassis is fantastic. Plus, I prefer the wider versions of the C6, like the Z06 or Grand Sport. Have you thought about test-driving both?
I’m a C6 fan all the way! The looks are classic, and it’s a fun drive. But yeah, the rear-mounted transmission can be a pain for some repairs. Just something to keep in mind.

What do you mean by tricky? Is it really that hard to work on?
@Kiran
It can be a bit more complicated than a traditional setup, but if you’re not doing major DIY work, it shouldn’t be a huge issue.
Both cars have their charms. The Camaro is more modern and has tech features that are nice for daily driving. The Corvette, on the other hand, has that classic sports car feel. What are your priorities for daily use?
I’d lean towards the Camaro if you want something comfortable for every day. It’s also got great power! But the C6 is definitely a head-turner.
