Chevrolet equinox 2012 bluetooth music

I recently purchased a new Chevy Equinox, and during the purchase, the representative mentioned that it had Bluetooth pairing capabilities. I was thrilled at the idea because it meant I could listen to Google Music and podcasts just like I did with my '99 Buick Century using an FM transmitter. However, it seems that this information might not be entirely accurate.

While I’ve managed to get the calling feature to work, I’ve encountered difficulties in setting Bluetooth as an audio source, resulting in all audio being transmitted through the car stereo. Is it really impossible to achieve this functionality? Are there any software updates available that could enable it?

Any assistance or insights would be greatly appreciated. I must admit, I’m feeling a bit disappointed about the situation. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

My Friends also called me complaining about the same issue that you are facing @PaulHall with the new Chevy Equinox’s Bluetooth audio problems.

Although the Bluetooth calling function functions, it is inconvenient to stream music directly.

Check with your dealer; Chevy might provide software updates to enhance Bluetooth performance.

For a more seamless streaming experience in the interim, consider connecting via USB or looking at solutions like Android Auto/Apple CarPlay.

You should be able to continue enjoying your podcasts and music with a few workarounds.
