My girl’s car is squirting what looks like fuel out the side of the engine on the passenger side. Anyone have any ideas what it could be?
Does it smell sweet? Could be the heater core.

No, it just smells like pure gas. When I was trying to start it, the gas started squirting out close to the fuel rail.

If it smells like gas and is coming from near the fuel rail, it could be a broken fuel line or a leaky fuel injector.
@Ciel
Seconded. You should check the fuel line connections and the injectors to see if there’s any obvious damage.

Will do. Is it safe to drive to the mechanic like this, or should I get it towed?
@Jay
If it’s leaking fuel, definitely get it towed. Better safe than sorry.

Yeah, a fuel leak is a fire hazard. Don’t risk it.

Could also be the fuel pressure regulator. If it’s faulty, it might be causing the leak.

I’ll have the mechanic check that too. Thanks for the heads up!
My Malibu had a similar issue, and it was a cracked fuel rail. Might be worth looking into.
