I have a 2013 Chevrolet Trailblazer with a 3.6L V6 and 82k miles on the odometer. Recently, I noticed a ticking sound when it’s running. It happens after warming up, and when I rev it a little over idle, the sound goes away completely. The check engine light just came on, but it disappeared after about 30 minutes. Oil levels are good, but IDK what’s causing this. Anyone experience something similar?
Does it only do it on cold starts? Or every time you start it?
It doesn’t do it on cold starts. Only after it reaches operating temperature.
That sounds like it could be a lifter tick or maybe an exhaust leak. Have you checked the exhaust system?

I haven’t checked the exhaust yet. I’ll take a look at that next. Thanks for the suggestion!
Sometimes, the oil can be too thin or not circulating properly when the engine warms up. Consider checking your oil viscosity.

Got it! I’ll check that too. The oil was just changed, but I’ll make sure it’s the right type.
I had a similar issue before. It turned out to be a loose component in the engine bay. Might be worth checking all the connections.

Thanks for the heads up! I’ll check all the connections. Appreciate everyone’s help
