Chevy 2022 rust spots

I purchased a new 2022 Chevy 1500 from the dealership, and it is now three years old with 37, xxx kilometers. I am starting to notice hundreds of extremely minute rust patches all over the vehicle. What are my expectations for resolving this with the dealership? I’m even starting to notice rust on what I presume to be plastic body panels. (Yes, I realize plastic does not rust. That is why I am here. New from the dealership. I purchased the rust and chip protection package, which included a plastic wrap over the front of the hood and pumper/fender region; nevertheless, I can see rust beneath the plastic. How does this happen?

Remove iron deposits with an iron remover and/or clay bar. no gm problem, all cars get these, white cars show the worst.

So I have iron deposits beneath the plastic “wrap” that covers the front of my vehicle. Is it recommended that you remove it to clear the deposits?

I recommend using your basic clay bar kit first, as the iron spray may not be compatible with the clear film. You know.

I owned a 1994 K1500 in white, and was told it was rail rust from being delivered by train. Never accomplished anything. There’s no way to prove it one way or another.

Was there anyone performing any metal work near the truck? It appears that the truck caught the tail end of a grinder.

Though it doesn’t feel that way, no. No welding, no demo saw, and no grinder. Keep it away from any industrial sites, such as iron ore ports. It’s located in strange places. Considering all the data, iron deposits from breaks or even rail road freight are most likely the cause.

If it’s in the plastic it came in hot and melted in.

How does that take place? Iron oxides, tiny bits of iron, and these tiny particles are all being embedded in the paint. Obtain an iron remover and a clay bar. The worst places for train dust are typically the tailgates.

Most likely rail dust from transit that the car dealership overlooked. According to what I understand, it can emerge.

The clay bar will get that off. My mom’s car (white traverse) has it bad.

You still have the manufacturer’s warranty in effect. I would bring it to Chevrolet before attempting a DIY fix.
