Hey guys, I’ve got a '01 Chevy Blazer—5-speed, 4x4, 2-door with 394k miles. When I first got it, I didn’t even know they made a 5-speed in the second generation, and I can’t seem to find much information on them. Are these uncommon? I’ve only seen a handful of references to them online. Also, mine’s painted blue and black, if that makes any difference. Any insight would be great.
This is the first I’m hearing about a 5-speed in the Blazer, but I know they made a 5-speed S10, which is pretty much the same thing, just without the bed.

That’s a good point! I always thought the ZR2 versions were interesting with that wider track width. It’s not for everyone, but I can see why some people dig it.
Wow, 394k miles? That’s impressive! How’s it holding up? I’ve always thought those 5-speeds were cool but super rare.

It’s holding up surprisingly well! Just the usual wear and tear at this point, but I’ve put a lot of work into it to keep it running. The 5-speed definitely makes it more fun to drive.
The 5-speed Blazers are definitely uncommon. I almost got one back in the day but ended up going with an automatic. Kinda wish I’d gone for the manual now.

Yeah, the manual is a blast! It gives the Blazer a bit more character, I think.
The 5-speed ones are rare but awesome for off-roading. You’ve got more control over the gears, which is great when you’re out on trails.

That’s what I’ve heard! I haven’t taken mine off-road much yet, but I’ve been tempted to try it out.
@Alden
You should! Just make sure you’ve got good tires and maybe a lift kit if you’re thinking about hitting some rough trails.
