I have a 2012 Chevy Impala, and I’ve noticed that it revs up while it’s in park. Can someone help me understand why this is happening? It’s a bit concerning, and I’m not sure what to look for.
That sounds odd. Sometimes it can be caused by a vacuum leak or issues with the throttle body. Have you checked those?
Could also be related to the idle air control valve. If it’s malfunctioning, it might cause the engine to rev higher than normal.

I haven’t checked that yet. Thanks for the suggestion. I’ll look into it!
Another possibility is the engine management system acting up. Have you had any trouble codes read? That might give you a clue.

I haven’t checked for codes yet. I’ll definitely do that. Thanks!
A sticky throttle could also be the culprit. Make sure the throttle linkage isn’t jammed or obstructed.
Yeah, definitely check those things. It’s good to get it sorted out before it leads to bigger issues down the line.
