Woke up to chocolate milk coolant. I need this truck to last as long as I can get it to so I’m ok with spending good money getting a high-quality gasket. I need a good high-quality brand to get one from but I have no idea what to trust on Google. Any help is appreciated for my 2000 S10 V6 Vortec 4.3L.
Felpro always makes good stuff. You can’t go wrong with their head gaskets.
1996 to newer than yours 4.3 Vortec engines are everywhere used. Anything with a single ignition coil will likely work. Are you sure it’s not the engine oil cooler that is leaking?
I remember a girl with an older S10 in my school parking lot who blew a head gasket. She had tons of thick white smoke billowing out of the exhaust and her engine wouldn’t start at the end of the day. I hardly get any smoke unless it’s cold outside and my engine temps have always been in the normal operation range.
Not really looking for exciting; I’m just looking for something to get back and forth to college and work. Maybe one day a 383 swap but it’s not realistic right now.
