How can I lock my car if someone can just get in?

Hey y’all… I need some help with this issue I just ran into. The other day, my friend was messing around, and I jumped in my car, thinking I could lock them out. But to my surprise, they just used the keyless entry button on my door to get in while I was inside! :scream: It hit me that anyone can pop in if I’m in there since the doors won’t lock with the key inside. So, if I’m ever in a sketchy situation, how can I lock myself in for safety when someone can just hit that button? Any advice would be super appreciated, thank you!

Whoa, that’s wild… I never thought about that. Maybe try locking the doors manually as soon as you get in?

Yeah, definitely! That way, even if someone tries to unlock it from the outside, you’re safe inside.

@Finley
Right? I’d also suggest keeping your keys on you so you can lock it quickly.

Have you thought about disabling the keyless entry feature? Some cars let you do that!

That’s a good idea! I wonder how to do that though… anyone know?

You could also check if your car has a panic button or alarm system. That could help in a tough spot.

I didn’t even think of that! I’ll have to look into it for my car.

If it’s really bad, just start the car. That should lock the doors, right?

Does that really work? I thought it only locks when the car is off.

It works for some models! Just be careful and make sure you know how your car behaves.

Oh man, that’s scary. I’d just make sure to be aware of my surroundings when I’m in my car.

Totally agree! Staying aware can really help in any situation.
