Every car has its weaknesses. Numerous known flaws exist in the 2013–2016 models, particularly with the 1.4T. When the mileage reaches 90K or more, the water pump is a common site of failure. In the event that oil changes are neglected, the turbo may malfunction. The transmission is likely to endure the entire life of the vehicle if it has more than 50,000 miles on it.Finally, certain cars had an electrical system grounding issue that resulted in issues. Once more, the likelihood is that it won’t if the vehicle has more than 50,000 miles on it and hasn’t demonstrated any electrical issues.

This automobile is between eight and ten years old. A GM dealer can provide you with the service records and a PPI. If properly maintained, these vehicles can be trouble-free, so make sure that one has been.

@THEROUX In cases when the car had a solid service history with us, I have replaced turbos. I would suppose that before 150k, it would require a turbo if I owned one. An intake manifold, perhaps. Would most likely replace the water outlet in advance when the turbo fails or it’s time to replace the coolant.

Many owners report reaching 150,000 miles or more with minimal issues if they adhere to the recommended maintenance schedule. Walker, they are highly comfortable and remarkably affordable. Models equipped with 16-inch wheels feature thick-walled, wide-treaded tires, which are noticeably larger than those found on other economy cars like the Yaris or Accent. This design enhances performance and provides a larger contact patch with the road, improving winter driving in challenging conditions. Additionally, in my opinion, they are aesthetically pleasing vehicles, especially the first generation alongside its contemporaries. (The 10th generation Civic, for example, is notably less attractive.) While the first generation of the Cruz may not match the reliability of Hondas or Toyotas, these brands typically command higher prices on the used market.

They are basic model cars with low longevity. I believe that how a vehicle is optioned has less to do with its longevity than how it is mechanically put together. Its little turbocharged four-cylinder engine isn’t particularly strong, but it can achieve nearly 40 miles per gallon.
