I can’t get my trunk open and I’m not sure if there’s a button on the outside or inside to help. When I got the car, it only came with a regular key, no key fob option. Any ideas on how to open it manually?
There should be a rubber button on the right side of the 3rd brake light above the Chevy emblem. Check out the linked image for reference: Malibu Trunk Button - Album on Imgur. Unfortunately, that generation of Malibu doesn’t have a trunk release inside the car.

I thought it was required for all cars to have an inside trunk release since, like, forever? Did they do away with that regulation?
