I need recommendations and advice

So I’m in need of a new commuter car and while scrolling through different websites, I sometimes see Chevy Malibus from the 2016-2019 generation. I’m curious, are those good fuel-efficient cars? Do they have bad problems? What do I need to look out for? I know a lot of Chevys have transmission issues on certain models, but are the Impalas worth it?

The Chevy Malibu from that generation is generally considered pretty reliable and fuel-efficient. Just make sure you check the maintenance history before you buy.

If you’re looking at Impalas, they can also be decent, but the Malibu usually has better fuel economy. It might come down to personal preference.

Definitely look for any recalls on the models you’re considering. Sometimes there are fixes that can help with known issues.

I would also check online reviews or forums to see what other owners are saying. They often share specific problems they’ve encountered.

That sounds like a smart idea. I’ll do some digging to see what other people have experienced.
