I’ve gone through 2 8-speed transmissions and one lifter failure with only 76,000 miles on the dash. It’s such a beautiful truck, but filled with headaches. Not sure if I should stick with it or move on. What would you do?
You had me at 8-speed. Time to move on. Learn from past mistakes.
Find the newest Chevy/GMC you can with a 6-speed. The 10-speed in the current 2500+ is also a piece of crap.
I’m reading on the GM-trucks forum the 1500 10-speeds are experiencing valve body failures. Don’t know how widespread it is.
Ditch it and get a Toyota. Not one of the new V6 twin turbos, but the old 5.7 V8. Most reliable rig out there.
