Hey folks, I’m trying to figure out if this L31 Vortec long block I’m looking at has a stock intake. I’ve got an 82 El Camino with a 305 that’s making some odd noises, and I’m considering upgrading to a 350. I know all Vortecs come with a roller cam, but I’m curious if this setup is carbureted or not. Any insights?
That looks like the stock intake to me. An L31 Vortec 350 definitely has a roller cam.
So they all came with a roller cam stock? Guessing I will need an electric fuel pump then since no cam lobe for a mechanical one?
Oh, that’s good to know about the roller cam. My worry is passing smog with the Vortec heads. I saw an intake manifold with EGR, but the price is steep. Would it be wise to just get that intake and maybe swap the front cover?
