My boyfriend is planning to move from TN to CT, and he’s gonna be driving 900 miles in his 1988 Chevrolet S-10 4x4 with a 4.3 V6. He last drove it in 2019-2020, but he’s fixing it up now. The only issues are that the O2 sensor and speedometer aren’t working. He’s changing the oil and fixing everything else tomorrow, so he should be done soon. He says it sounds like a V8 when cold, which is kinda cool! Any advice or thoughts on this road trip?
If he knows what he’s doing, it should be fine! Just make sure he keeps an eye on everything during the drive.

Yeah, he’s pretty handy with cars, so I think he’ll manage!
Make sure he packs some extra oil and tools just in case. A long drive can be tough on older trucks.
I’d recommend checking the brakes and tires too. Safety first, especially on a long trip!

Great idea! I’ll remind him to double-check those.
Does the S-10 have any rust? That can be an issue on long drives if it’s not taken care of.

I’m not sure about rust, but I’ll ask him. Thanks for the heads up!
Sounds like a fun adventure! Just make sure he takes breaks and stays hydrated.
