Hey everyone, I just got a 2022 Chevy Malibu. I know there are some haters on other subs, but I’m hoping to get some tips for this car specifically on here. I’m a new car owner entirely and looking to keep it in good shape. It’s got 56k miles so far. Any advice or tips would be much appreciated!

Keep up on the maintenance, and that car should last you for a while. I’ve seen this generation Malibu (the ones that are a few years older) go over 200k miles.
Yeah, regular maintenance is key! If the engine light comes on, take it in to get checked out. If it’s blinking, you might want to tow it in right away.
@Harley
Thanks for the tip! I’ll definitely keep an eye on that.
Definitely keep an eye on your fluids and watch for any changes in how the car feels or sounds. It can help you catch issues early. Good luck!

I appreciate it! I’ll make sure to check the fluids regularly.
You’ll get pretty much the same reply from everyone: keep up on your maintenance. Do your oil changes every 3500 miles, and make sure the car never overheats. Since it’s low mileage, consider getting a new transmission filter—don’t flush it, just have them replace the filter and top off the fluid. Also, read through your owner’s manual for general maintenance tips.

Great advice! I’ll definitely read the manual and keep up with the oil changes.
