Old beauty 1999 Chevy suburban 4X4... anyone else love these?

Just wanted to share my love for my old 1999 Chevy Suburban 4X4. It’s been my trusty ride for years and still runs like a champ. I know it’s not the newest model out there, but there’s just something about the classic feel and the way it handles off-road. Anyone else out there rocking an old Suburban or similar? Would love to hear your stories.

I totally get it! I had a 2000 Suburban, and it was my favorite vehicle. The space is unbeatable for road trips.

Right? The room is perfect for family trips or just hauling stuff around. What do you miss most about yours?

@Keller
Definitely the comfort. It felt like a big couch on wheels, lol. Plus, the sound system was awesome.

I’ve always wanted one of those. How’s the maintenance on it? I hear older models can be a bit finicky.

It can be a bit tricky sometimes, but I’ve found a good mechanic who knows these models well. It’s all about finding the right parts.

@Keller
That makes sense. I wouldn’t mind doing some work on it if I got one. Do you do most of the maintenance yourself?

I do some basic stuff, but I leave the heavy lifting to the pros. Just trying to keep it running smoothly.

I love the classic look of the 90s Suburbans. They just don’t make cars like that anymore. What color is yours?

Mine is a deep blue. I’ve had people compliment it all the time. What color did you prefer on yours?

What’s the fuel efficiency like on those? I’ve always wondered if they’re bad on gas.

It’s not the best, that’s for sure. I usually get around 15 MPG, but I don’t mind it for the comfort and space.

@Keller
Yeah, I guess you have to weigh comfort against the gas prices. Still, sounds worth it for a classic.

I’m thinking of getting one as a project car. Any tips for someone looking to buy?

Definitely check for rust and make sure the engine runs smoothly. Also, look for a service history if possible.

@Keller
Thanks! I’ll keep that in mind. I just want something that can last a while.
