P0053 even after replacing upstream oxygen sensor

I bought a 2014 1.4L with 127k miles for my daughter.

On the drive home, the CEL came on with a P1011 code.

After replacing the MAF Sensor and checking for air leaks, I’m still getting a P0053 code for the Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S), Bank 1, Sensor 1. I replaced this upstream sensor with one from Amazon (a.co/d/6otqkRy) while addressing the original P1011 issue.

I’m also waiting for the emissions readiness tests to be completed, including the Oxygen Sensor test, though the Oxygen Sensor Heat readiness monitor has recently come on as ready.

Is there something else I should check, or could this be because of the generic sensor not being a GM part?

Here’s what I’ve replaced so far while troubleshooting the P1011 code:

  • Air filter
  • MAF Sensor
  • Upstream O2 Sensor
  • Canister Purge Valve
  • MAP Sensor
  • PCV Valve House
  • Intake Air Temperature and Pressure Sensor

You have already replaced several parts, but the warning light is still on. It might be an issue with the oxygen sensor or the car’s computer. It’s a good idea to check the wires and fuses connected to the sensor. If the problem persists, consider taking the car to a mechanic for a thorough check.

If this isn’t a sign to visit your mechanic, I don’t know what is.  As a girlie, I don’t even stress, I simply call the mechanic to have the car and return it when the error code is disappeared.
