The dealer is asking $800 to reprogram my 2022 Bolt EV because of a “propulsion power reduced” issue. EV concierge said there’s nothing they can do. Is this normal? I would appreciate any advice!
Update: Thanks to everyone for the tips. Looks like I need to avoid this dealer.
Update: Just got my car back. They fixed it for free and only charged me for labor. The error code was U3636 17. So, no $800??

They shouldn’t be charging for something under warranty. I’d suggest filing a complaint with your state’s consumer protection agency.

Feels like I need to get my car back first before doing that!

What exactly did they say the issue was?

They were pretty vague, just said it needed a software reprogram. Told me my b2b warranty had expired.

What year is your Bolt?

It’s a 2022.
I got this error on my 2020 Bolt, and the reprogramming was covered by warranty. Sounds like both the dealer and concierge are wrong here.

Did they charge you anything for labor?
@Mica
They shouldn’t. Labor is included in the warranty coverage.
