I’m having an issue with my 2014 Chevy Cruze. There’s no sound coming from my radio or my turn signals. It’s really frustrating! Sometimes, when I first turn on the car, they work for about 15 minutes, but then the sound just cuts out again.
Has anyone else experienced this problem? I’m wondering if there’s a common fix or something I should check before taking it to a mechanic. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated…Thanks
First, how do you know the radio is on when there is no sound? The display may appear, but if there is a separate fuse for the amplifier portion, there will be no sound; thus, check all fuses. If they’re good, are the speakers okay? If this is the case and the antenna is in good working order, your radio’s amplifier component has failed.
It’s probably not a fuse… not likely to be the coupling that locks wiring to the back of the radio, but I suppose it’s possible… I just don’t see it fixing itself, physically, after not using for some time.
I think some people have experienced this problem when their battery was failing. You might have a part store test that for you.
I can sure bet it’s the amplifier that has issues, @StephieStephie should check on the fuse. If you can, replace it and see if sound is back. If all fails, then you mechanic’s shop should be your next stop.
What do you mean Michael? Coz I think the car’s computer (BCM) tells the system when to make turn signals and warning sounds. The amplifier then boosts these sounds so they can be heard through the speakers. Therefore if anyone’s having trouble hearing any sound from the radio, it’s likely that the amplifier is broken, and the first thing they should check is whether the fuse is okay.
