Replace the Alternator 3 times... what's going on?

Hello, People of r/Chevy. I replaced the alternator in my 2003 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LT 5.3L V8 (Gas Motor), which keeps popping up on my dashboard. The (BATTERY NOT CHARGING) warning turns off and immediately turns back on. Does anyone have a clue what’s going on?

I’m not a General Motors mechanic but I am an electrician. I would check the fuse for the alternator if there is one. Also, check the wiring from one end to the other, positive and negative, to make sure it’s not broken. Maybe you just had bad luck with alternators. Get this one tested by the part store. If it’s cutting in and out, you might have a broken wire or a relay issue.

Are you buying cheap ones or OEM / ACDELCO?

The ones sold from O’Riley, but this is a brand new alternator, not remanufactured.

Parts stores are good if you need something fast, but I’d recommend checking RockAuto for genuine Chevy parts. You don’t want to skimp on your alternator.
