The button rim cover parts are supplied separately:
- Part Number: P42752421 (Left side, for No Button Model)
- Part Number: P42752425 (Left side)
- Part Number: P42752427 (Right side)
These cover parts are quite affordable, but the replacement process can be a bit tricky since the airbag must be removed to replace them.

@Charlotte Disconnect and secure the negative battery terminal before starting this. Aside from the (slight) danger of discharging the airbag, if the airbag is ever disconnected, while the car is powered on, the Airbag light will illuminate, and the car will set an SRS code that will need to be dealt with.
I have the identical one, but after 60k km, my steering wheel’s deterioration has also started on the window side.
I wondered if nail polish would work I’m not sure
@Emma_Greens Mine has done the same thing. The top is starting to go as well despite me always using those windshield shade thingies.
@Isabella other vehicles I have owned have had this happen before, I don’t understand why this car
