I recently purchased a 2017 Chevy Spark with 75,000 miles on it. I’ve noticed a slight tapping sound coming from the back right of the car when I’m driving under 30 mph, almost like the seat belt is hitting the door or something. I’ve checked everything and can’t figure out where it’s coming from. Has anyone else experienced this?
I had a noise coming from the back, and it turned out to be my license plate tapping against the hatch. I bent it away from the hatch, and the noise disappeared.
Check the location where your spare tire is stored. I had a similar noise when I first got my 2019, and it turned out to be the removable tow hook rolling around next to the spare tire. It drove me crazy for a few weeks until I discovered it.
I have a 2017 model, and I also hear that tapping sound. I suspect it might be the little cover over the trunk tapping, but I’m not certain yet. I’ve ruled out other possibilities in the past, so that’s where I currently stand.
I think my back door armrest is rattling.
Unlatch each half of the back seat, doing one side at a time. On mine, the latch that secures the passenger side back seat in the upright position rattles.
