My buddy is selling his 2008 Chevy Silverado with a 5.3 V8 and around 140,000 miles on it. The truck looks super clean and has had no damage, plus he hardly uses it. He’s willing to sell it to me for about $8k, and I’m curious about how reliable it would be. I really want a truck that will last and be dependable. Any advice or recommendations would be greatly appreciated!
Sounds like a solid deal! Those trucks are known for their reliability, especially if it’s been well taken care of.

That’s what I was hoping to hear! Just want to make sure it’s worth it.
I had a 2008 Silverado, and it ran like a champ for years. Just keep up with the maintenance, and you should be good to go!

What kind of maintenance did you do? Just regular oil changes?

Yeah, mostly oil changes, but also brakes and some suspension work. Nothing major. Just keep an eye on things.
Doesn’t sound like it’s been abused at all. If it’s clean and maintained, you should be fine!
I’d say go for it! Those trucks can last well over 200k miles if taken care of.

That’s encouraging! I’d love to get a lot of life out of it.
Just check for any signs of rust or issues with the transmission. Those can be common problems.
