Thinking about fixing my 1994 Cheyenne 2500... worth it?

I’ve had this 1994 Cheyenne 2500 sitting outside my house for a few years now. It has a bad tranny, and my dad said I can either fix it up or he’ll just scrap it for parts since he’s not a Chevy guy. It’s an Oklahoma truck, so there’s quite a bit of rust, but the engine is strong and it’s 4WD. I want to swap the grille because the W/T front looks a bit ugly to me. With classic Chevy prices skyrocketing, I’d rather make do with what I have than buy a whole new truck. So, is it even worth it? What kind of money should I expect to spend?

The Vision

A lot of cost, time, and effort compared to the reward. But sometimes it’s all about the labor of love.

It’s not the journey, it’s the friends we made along the way. And the totally unique cusses that come out during a project!

If you’re handy and don’t mind some rust, it could be a fun project. Just make sure to budget for unexpected repairs!
