Just got a 2017 Chevy Spark with about 75k miles, and I’ve noticed this slight tapping sound in the back right when I’m driving under 30 mph. It kinda sounds like something’s tapping against the door, like a seat belt or something, but I’ve checked and can’t pinpoint it. Has anyone else had this problem?
I had something similar, and it ended up being the license plate tapping against the hatch. I bent it away from the hatch, and the noise disappeared.

That’s a good idea, but I only have a paper tag right now, so it’s not that.
Maybe check the spare tire area? I had a noise from back there once and it turned out to be the tow hook rolling around next to the spare tire. Drove me nuts till I figured it out.

Wait, these Sparks came with a spare tire? I didn’t know that!
@Finlo
Yeah, my 2019 has a spare. Not sure about all models though.

I’ve got the same issue in my 2017. I think it might be the cover over the trunk that’s making the noise, but I haven’t nailed it down yet.
Interesting. Mine sounds like it’s coming from the back passenger side, kinda like it’s in the trunk area. It’s not super loud, but I feel like I’m going crazy trying to figure it out.
In mine, it turned out to be the back door armrest rattling. Might be worth checking.
Try unlatching each side of the back seat one by one. In my Spark, the latch that locks the passenger side back seat can rattle sometimes.
