What particular differences exist between OEM and aftermarket replacement parts for autos as a whole?

I apologize if this is a silly question, but I’m looking around for front suspension parts for my 2001 GS430 and there are a lot of unknown brands who make inexpensive replacement parts that are less expensive than buying from Lexus. Are they inferior, or is there hardly any difference in quality?

Does the build quality differ noticeably? What precise distinctions exist, in your opinion, between OEM and off-brand components?

Nice aftermarket components that are meant to outperform OEM specs, in my opinion, are typically composed of lighter, stronger materials and, depending on the part, may be adjustable.

Do OEM parts purchased directly from the manufacturer warrant a higher price?

OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) parts are designed and produced by the vehicle’s manufacturer to exact specifications, ensuring high quality and precise fitment. They come with a higher price tag but offer reliability and performance consistency. In contrast, aftermarket replacement parts vary widely in quality and materials, often providing cheaper alternatives. While some aftermarket parts may offer enhanced features or performance upgrades, others might be of inferior quality. Choosing between OEM and aftermarket parts depends on your priorities.

In general OEMs last longer and are less frequent to breakage
