What’s the purpose of the empty space under right air vent? Wallet doesn’t fit, anything else falls out

I can’t figure out what to use the empty space under the right air vent for. My wallet doesn’t fit, and anything else I put in there just falls out. These oversized cup holders are a problem too—drinks tip over all the time. Any ideas what the space is for?

It’s a space for GM to put a switch for an option your truck doesn’t have.

I tried to Google pictures out of curiosity but couldn’t find anything… I’m just gonna add a voltmeter in that poverty hole anyway. Thanks for the ideas.

On the LT2’s with dual climate controls, LTZ, and Texas Edition trucks, that’s where the passenger controls go.

You asked for ideas and I gave one! I’m not sure it’s the right answer, but in my experience, spaces like that are perfect for a pack of smokes. (I don’t smoke either, but I know people who do.)

@Nari
I’ll figure something out for it.

I bet you can find a small speaker or something else that’ll fit in there.

My wallet fits in there just fine, and yeah, it’s got plenty of cash and cards in it.
