I’m having issues with the windshield cowl on my 2024 Colorado. Here’s a picture:
It’s a 2024 Colorado
If it’s under warranty, I’d definitely have the dealer fix it.
I had the same issue with my ‘18 Colorado. Those cowl pieces don’t fit very well, and the attachment design is kinda finicky.
Had mine replaced under warranty, but it popped out again just 24 hours later. Really annoying.

The design on those corner pieces is just wrong. They should be a bit longer. GM probably won’t redesign them, but there are better clips out there that some people use instead of the stock ones.
GM actually did make new molds for them. There’s a new part number, and I’m getting mine replaced under warranty this Friday.

If a yellow clip fell into the air intake area, do you think that would cause any problems?
Unfortunately, it’s normal. They did release a new part number, but I can’t confirm if it’s any better. The problem is the cowl is too stiff and pops out if you raise the hood even a little higher than necessary.
The yellow clip on mine fell into the air intake. Do you think that will cause any issues? I’m worried it might block a drain or something.
My 2023 Colorado has the same issue on both sides. I’ve decided to ignore it for now. Even if the dealer replaces them, they’ll probably break again.
@Oakley
Is the quality any better on the replacement?
@Franklin
Mine is on but feels loose. The clips aren’t long enough to hold it tightly. Can I just leave it, or do I need to get it fixed?
The dealer fixed mine, but it popped out again. I’ll just mention it at my next oil change.
